Krabi Province includes 86,500 hectares of forest, which covers 18 percent of its total area. The province is characterized by dense mangrove forests where it faces the Andaman Sea, and 154 islands of varying size are scattered in the area.

Mu Koh Poda or Poda Group Islands is located in the west of Ao Nang. For a long time, these islands of Krabi sea namely Poda Island, Chicken Head Island (Koh Kai), Thab Island & Mo Island have been so popular for both Thai and Farangs (Foreigners). The beautiful white sandy beach on the north of Koh Poda is fascinatingly with its powdery fine sand beach and emerald blue sea water.

Koh Jum or Koh Phu is a small island situated between Koh Lanta and Krabi town. Whilst the southern end of the island is known as Koh Jum (Jum Island), the northern part bears the entirely different name Koh Phu (Phu Island).
How to get there?
Around 8 kilometers away from Ao Nang shore. Mu Koh Poda or Poda Group Islands is under the administration of Haad Noppharat Thara to Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park. Mu Koh Poda that can be reached by a rented boat from Ao Nang.

The best way to reach Koh Jum is by one of the twice/daily ferry boats from Krabi to Lanta Island which pass Koh Jum.

Chicken Island is also called Hua Khawan Island or Poda Nok Island. The rock shaped like a rooster on the limestone moutain at Chicken Island is the symbol of Krabi sea. Apart from the beauty on the land, Chicken Island also has plenty of coral reefs to appreciate in the west of the island.

Poda Island Poda Island (Koh Poda)
Poda Island is a small island no more than a kilometre in diameter, fringed by clear clean waters, a white sandy beach and coral reefs and is a top spot for day trips from the nearby Ao Nang, Phra Nang and the Railay Beaches. As Poda Island is one of Krabi’s main tourist attractions; it can get somewhat busy.

Tub Island Tub Island (Koh Tub)
Tup Island also known as Tub Island, Tap Island or Thap Island is one of the most popular offshore Islands Around Krabi for day trips and tours. Tap Island is located in the Mu Koh Poda archipelago just south west of Ao Nang between Poda Island and Chicken Island. Tup is much smaller than the other islands in the group, however it has a nice beach and the waters that surround it provide an excellent spot for snorkeling with an abundance of tropical fish.

The second nearest islet to Ao Nang, just past Koh Poda (Poda Island), this site is often utilized for DSD and OW courses due to the shallow water and lack of a strong current. That is not to say that this site is not worth visiting as there is abundant coral around which house a variety of nudibranches, shrimps and crabs. Off the northwest tip of the island, one will likely discover the 3 meters / 10 feet leopard shark that has seemed to have made this spot its home.
